Google to restrict power use for AI data centers amid concerns over strain on grid

Google has entered into agreements with two U.S. electric utilities to reduce power consumption at its AI data centers during peak demand periods, addressing concerns over energy shortages. The initiative marks Google’s first formal participation in demand-response programs, which are typically used by energy-intensive industries to manage electricity loads more efficiently.
